What is U.S. Communities?
U.S. Communities is a purchasing contract! Specifically, U.S. Communities was designed in cooperation with
an Advisory Board of local government purchasing officials; U.S. Communities pools the purchasing power
of public agencies, achieves bulk volume discounts on behalf of public agencies, competitively solicits
quality products through a lead public agency and provides a purchasing forum for public agencies nationwide.
Why would I want to purchase under U.S. Communities?
By purchasing under U.S. Communities you are guaranteed GameTime’s lowest nationwide price. Best of all you are
not required to get a formal bid. The competitive bidding process has already been completed by U.S. Communities.
You simply select your equipment and services, and buy. Additionally, there is no cost to participate for the agency.
In summary, you will not find better a price elsewhere! You can avoid additional time and paperwork by not having to
bid and there is absolutely no cost to you.
Is it legal?

Are there other playground companies under the U.S. Communities program?
Yes! All major playground companies were invited to bid with the lead agency, Charlotte-Mecklenburg County, for
playground equipment, surfacing, and services. In the end, GameTime, Little Tikes and Landscape Structures were awarded the bid.
Can I look at their contracts?
We would prefer if you just bought from GameTime only, however we are so proud of this program and the tremendous savings
from GameTime, that we invite you to check them out and see for yourself.

Is the level of service I have come to expect from GameTime still going to be there?
Yes, we treat every order the same way, no matter how it is purchased. We strive every day to make the buying process as
simple and as coordinated as possible.
Can I still get my equipment installed under the Five-Star Installation Program and by a GameTime Certified Installer?
Absolutely! Installation is included in the U.S. Communities contract and it also has been competitively bid.
Who do I need to check with to make sure my Government agency is able to purchase this way?
All government agencies are able to purchase under this program, however it is up to the purchasing departments for final
approval. If needed we can contact the purchasing department on your behalf and discuss how the process works. We can also
give them a list of the National Purchasing Organizations that are founding members and approve of this buying practice.

NLC – National League of Cities
USCM – United States Conference of Mayors
Can I purchase other things from the U.S. Communities Contract?
Yes, in addition to Playgrounds, Surfacing, Water Parks, Shade Structures, and Installation, other products are available
from other companies such as Office Depot, Savin, American Express, Graybar, and Knoll to name a few. Here is a list of

How do I begin?
You must be a registered participant of U.S. Communities. To enroll you will need your TIN/EIN from your
payables department. You probably should have your purchasing departments do the enrollment as they will
have the proper information needed.
